NewZealandAtoZ reviews; JetStar, New Zealand
We flew JetStar from Christchurch to Auckland on their first flight on this route. We booked easily on the internet and looked over their baggage rules which are confusing, as with any airline. (JetStar Baggage Rules)
We got to the airport, and all I can say is I hope they have the same amount of helpful staff on when the TV cameras are not around. Checked in by machine, dropped our bags off and went for a cup of tea. Time to head to the gate; it was a packed flight so the gate area was overflowing (Airport size problem). I arrived at my seat, at 5 foot 10 sat down with about 1 cm between my knees and the seat in front. It is a budget airline and you get what you pay for, but if you are over 6 foot your knees will be in the back of the person in front.
For your food you were paying $11 for a sandwich, small chocolate bar and can of soft drink. Coffee and muffin was $5, Beer and nuts $8.50. To buy lemonade on the domestic routes is $3 and international is $2, interesting. I would bring my own snacks next time.
The cabin crew were all very good.
JetStar is good for the New Zealand market and it's that old story of "you get what you pay for". I will use JetStar again for domestic flights since my legs do fit in their seat space.
All Prices are in New Zealand dollars.
