The New Zealand Travelpass (tel 0800 33 99 66; website www.travelpass.co.nz) is an excellent transport option for the independent traveller. This pass includes unlimited coach travel on InterCity and Newmans coaches as well as inter-island ferry travel and the option of rail and air transport as well depending on which pass you purchase. The New Zealand Travelpass provides the holder with a specified number of travel days within a six-month period.
This is a much easier to understand travel option than many of the other bus passes available, many of which limit which routes which you may travel on.
