These give you the ability to sleep cheaply and meet friendly people from all parts of the world on their New Zealand Adventure. More are older style motels are getting converted into a great standard of hostel. The smaller the backpackers, the more personalised service you will receive with the owners more likely to be looking after you.
You will also find some great small backpackers in picturesque places. Backpackers and hostels are the most fashionable way for younger people to see NZ with more older people staying at the smaller style hostels.
