In New Zealand Taxis owned by a number of companies and independent operators. NZ Taxis run from taxi stands (ranks) at the major attractions airports and city areas or can be called on the telephone 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Taxis in New Zealand are easier to phone than hail.

Shuttle buses are a competitively priced alternative to taxis; most operate to and from the airports. Shuttle buses are usually minibus vans with trailers custom made for baggage.
