Golf in New Zealand

Golf in New Zealand is played all year round with the main competition months from late summer into late autumn. The hottest months are December, January and February with March, April, October and November being the most pleasant to play your golf.

New Zealand is a golfers paradise with a golf course in every scenic location offering fantastic views; no country can match the golfing diversity that New Zealand has to offer. Golf courses in New Zealand are all easily accessible with great green fees and friendly locals offering to play and share a drink with you. Most courses will charge between $10 and $40nzd with only the private, championship, and resort style courses charging more.

Most New Zealand courses do not require bookings with only the private, championship and resort courses requiring the advanced bookings. With the amount of golf courses around you will not have to worry about getting a game in if you do forget to book.

New Zealand has produced a number of world class well seasoned professional players the most well known is Sir Bob Charles who won a number of international tournaments with his most famous being the 1963 British Open.

Some off the other New Zealand professionals include Michael Campbell, Craig Perks, Grant Waite, Frank Nobilo, David Smail, Steven Alker, Marnie McGuire, Lynette Brooky, Michael Long, Phillip Tatarangi, Richard Lee and Greg Turner.

New Zealand also has a number of other up and coming professionals including Mark Brown, Danny Lee, Eddie Lee, Carl Brooking, Mahal Pearce, Tim Wilkinson, Gareth Padderson and Bradley Heaven just to name a few.
