Olive Agencies (NZ) Limited will market Extra Virgin Olive Oil under two distinct brand names.

One is named Bevian the other Olivenz. The oil produced from the region is of high quality with the climate of hot days and cool evenings producing flavours unequalled by processors in many olive-growing regions in the Northern Hemisphere.

The olive oil produced from this growing region has been tested by an independent laboratory of having less than 0.1% free fatty acid, that is well within the requirements for olive oils to be classified as Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

This fine quality olive oil has been tasted by a leading New Zealand Olive Oil judge who has reported - 'Very big exciting aromatic nose with considerable complexity of green herbal and grassy strength with underpinning ripe fruity qualities - green apple and just perceptible citrus and greengage. An excellent lift of oil at room temperature.

A definate and attractive green hue throughout the oil. In the palate hints of ripe melon, citrus and stone fruit giving great complexity in the front palate of fruitiness. Some grassy qualities with a long zingy end palate finishing with attractive pungency and pepperiness'.

'Bevian' Extra Virgin Olive Oil is Canterbury's first and only olive oil to receive international acclaim and is the only commercial extra virgin olive oil from the region to achieve the 'OliveMark' standard. 2006 production of 'Bevian' brand award winning extra virgin olive oil was laboratory tested as having FFA ranging from 0.04% to 0.09%.
